Online teaching pay and your location
Where you live can affect which roles you can apply for and how you receive payment. It does not establish a salary. Compare the terms of the particular role before building your budget.
Start with the employer's pay terms
Use the current pay research to compare published terms and their source dates. An advertised wage, a tutor asking price and a teacher's report are different kinds of evidence. If the source publishes no rate, keep it unknown.
Keep the original currency and paid unit. A rate per minute or lesson is not an advertised hourly wage. A tutor's asking price does not establish paid bookings. Check preparation, trial lessons, commissions and any other deductions separately.
Check where you may work
Read residence, citizenship and work authorisation requirements separately. The employer's address and its student market do not establish applicant eligibility. Programmes within one platform can have different location and pay rules.
Start with a role you can qualify for, then check its working hours and named time zone. Confirm how daylight-saving changes affect your availability.
Build a budget from your own confirmed inputs
The income calculator models a rate, expected paid hours and a platform fee that you enter. It is a scenario, not a typical salary or a promise of work. Leave room for unpaid preparation, cancellations and weeks with fewer bookings.
Check the payment provider's current fees, currency-conversion quote and availability in your country. Then compare the amount you expect to receive with your own local costs. This page does not estimate a country's cost of living, purchasing power, tax liability or likely savings.
Questions to resolve before applying
- Does the employer accept applicants living and working where you are?
- Which programme's rate applies, in what currency and for what paid unit?
- Which teaching and non-teaching tasks are paid?
- Are any hours committed, or do earnings depend on bookings?
- Can you receive payment through the offered method, and what will it cost?
