Read the learners’ age range, subject, format, applicant-location rule and qualifications. An employer’s address or student market does not establish where a teacher may work. Open the job directory and follow the source for the particular programme before applying.

Agree a specific lesson time

The table is an illustrative conversion for one lesson date, not a claim about popular or available teaching hours. Confirm the learner’s city and your own time zone. Convert each date when seasonal clock changes could affect either person.

Try a practical lesson: explain a delivery problem

Use this original activity if it fits the learner’s goals and level. It is not a claim about a national learning style.

A customer ordered a desk for Tuesday. It arrived on Thursday with one part missing. The supplier can deliver the part on Monday.

Ask the learner to identify the three facts a customer needs. Draft a short message that acknowledges the delay, names the missing part and offers a next step. Role-play a reply asking for an earlier delivery.

Check understanding by asking the learner to explain the next step in their own words. Adapt names, context and difficulty with their input. For a younger learner, use an age-appropriate situation and follow the organisation’s safeguarding rules.

Check the working arrangement

Keep pay in its original currency and paid unit. Ask about preparation, trials, cancellations, fees, payouts and whether hours are committed or depend on bookings. The pay research separates published terms from unknowns. Check the employer’s rules and official requirements for your own location before accepting work.
