How pay is worked out
Choose one of four workload and annual-salary options. Option A: five workdays, ten teaching periods and five office-hour periods each week, for ¥4,000,000 Japanese yen a year. Option B: four workdays, eight teaching periods and four office-hour periods each week, for ¥3,200,000 Japanese yen a year. Option C: four workdays, six teaching periods and three office-hour periods each week, for ¥2,600,000 Japanese yen a year. Option D: three workdays, four teaching periods and two office-hour periods each week, for ¥1,600,000 Japanese yen a year.
Employment and pay terms
Office hours are spent in the faculty space in Meitokukan. Other duties require a separate contract. Research funding is not provided. Social, employment and workers’ compensation insurance are provided.

Shortlisted applicants attend an interview and may be asked to give a demonstration lesson. First-stage results are due by early November 2026 and second-stage results by late November 2026.

Hiroshima University of Economics is recruiting fixed-term English lecturers in its General Education Division to teach Required English and related courses. The university describes the appointment as full-time and the number of positions as several.

Applicants need experience teaching English at a university or equivalent institution, or the ability to do so. After appointment, they must be able to commute from Hiroshima City or its vicinity.

The appointment runs from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2030. Renewal is possible by agreement with the university, to a maximum of five years in total, without extending beyond retirement age 65. University employment rules apply.

This is one recruitment campaign with four choices of workload and annual salary. Applicants state their preferred choice on the working-conditions form.
