About this job

Assistant Language Teacher for Saitama City Board of Education. You help with English teaching at the city's elementary, junior high and special needs schools for the 2027 fiscal year.

Pay and payment terms

How pay is worked out: ¥3,215 Japanese yen an hour, including the regional allowance equivalent, plus a bonus. Commuting costs are reimbursed. Hourly pay and allowances may change during the year with salary revisions for full time staff, and they are not final until the budget passes.

Good to know before you apply

How applying works: Do both: complete the online registration form, and send your documents by post or in person. These are an application letter, CV and copies of your degree certificate, passport, residence card and any TEFL or TESOL certificate. Documents must arrive between October 6 and November 12, 2026. A medical report (item 7) and tax certificates (item 8) can follow after the interview but must arrive by February 12, 2027.
How you are chosen: Applicants are shortlisted from their documents and told the result by email. The written exam and interview are in mid December or early January.
Insurance: No social health insurance, pension or employment insurance is provided. Work injuries are covered by workers' accident compensation insurance.
Paid leave: Seven days of paid leave a year, plus other paid leave such as sick, maternity, marriage and bereavement leave.
Budget approval: The conditions are final only if the budget for fiscal year Reiwa 9 (2027) passes at the regular city council meeting of February 2027.

「グローバル・スタディ」の授業での指導など

Duties: Assist teachers in teaching Global Studies at schools.

勤務時間

所属長（学校長）の指定する月曜日、火曜日、水曜日、木曜日、金曜日を基本とした日（授業日）で、

開始時刻から休憩時間を除き、原則として5時間

休憩時間45分

所定時間外労働なし

Working hours: The working day are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday as designated by the school principal,

and in principle, a working day is 5 hours from the start of working hours excluding the break time.
