Check location and licensing

An online school can require a particular teaching licence, work authorisation or residence. The employer’s office address does not tell you where teachers may work. Check those conditions separately.

Read the full pay arrangement

Keep annual salaries, hourly wages and payments per lesson separate. Ask whether planning, assessments, meetings and student reports are included. We do not turn a salary into an hourly rate by guessing the workload.

Prepare your teaching samples

• Describe the learners, curricula and subjects you have taught.
• Prepare a short reading or writing lesson suited to the advertised age group.
• Explain how you assess understanding and adapt teaching.
• Share sample materials without revealing anything that identifies a student.
