Virtual ESL Teacher (NaGeo Learning Curriculum)

Position Overview

We are Houhai English Online and we are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Online ESLTeachers to guide elementary-age students through engaging National Geographic Learning curriculum during the fall of 2026. Teachers will help students acquire advanced English reading skills and achieve comprehensive improvement, including reading, listening, speaking, critical thinking and writing skills, etc.

Program Dates

Start Date: August 25, 2026

Teachers must be available for a minimum commitment of 3 months from their start date.

Schedule

Classes are held Monday through Sunday.

Teachers must maintain the same daily teaching time slot throughout the program.

Available peak teaching hours (Beijing Time):

7:30 AM – 10:30 AM (Weekends)

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Weekends)

5:30 PM – 9:00 PM (Weekdays and Weekends)

Student Profile

Grade Levels: Grades 1–6 (6-12 years old)

Class size: maximum 8 for lower level, 10 for higher level

Key Responsibilities

Lead students to acquire advanced English reading skills and achieve comprehensive improvement.

Facilitate engaging discussions to support comprehension, vocabulary development, and critical thinking.

Encourage active participation and create a positive learning environment.

Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Maintain professional communication and classroom management throughout the program.

Subjects: ESL, ESL - Conversational English, ESL - English for Academic Purposes, ESL - Young Learners

Grade levels: Gr. 1, Gr. 2, Gr. 3, Gr. 4, Gr. 5, Gr. 6, Gr. 7, Gr. 8, Gr. 9, Gr. 10

Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor

Teaching Experience: 0 years

Licenses & Certifications: Teaching Credential/License, TESL/TEFL Certificate over 100 hours, TESL/TEFL Certificate, TESL/TEFL Diploma Level

Additional School Requirements: Device and Internet Requirement Intel i5 8 generation and newer or, Amd Ryzen5 1 generation and newer or, Windows 7 and newer or, mac OS X10.13 and new Memory: at least 16GB for Windows or 4GB for Macbook Internet: at least 4Mbps
