Review your CV and demo

Use the employer's actual application instructions to review your materials. Start with what the role asks for, then make your experience and teaching approach clear.

Check your CV against the vacancy

  • Identify the required subject, learner group, qualifications and experience. Describe your relevant experience accurately, including its dates and scope.
  • Replace broad claims with a concrete example of explaining an idea, planning a lesson or giving feedback.
  • Make your contact details easy to find. Follow the requested file format and naming instructions.
  • Remove information the employer has not asked for. Keep identity documents and learner details private.

Review a short demo

  • Use the employer's requested topic, level and length. If no format is given, ask before producing a full recording.
  • Set one clear lesson aim and include an activity that shows how you check understanding.
  • Play back the recording to check sound, pacing and whether shared materials are readable.
  • Practise explaining a correction and adapting when a learner needs another example.

The editable lesson planner and classroom materials can help you prepare. Adapt them to the actual learner and task.
