Worked examples and who each suits
Labelled arithmetic, not a forecast. Outschool: USD 20 per learner × 4 hypothetical enrolled learners = a USD 80 class price payment; after the official 30% Teacher Fee, USD 56 remains from that payment. Preply: a USD 20 listed regular lesson leaves USD 13.40 at a 33% commission and USD 16.40 at an 18% commission; a new student trial at the same listed price leaves USD 0 to the tutor. These use listed prices and assume a payment occurs. They do not predict enrolment, bookings or monthly earnings.
Choose Outschool when the class is the work: you have a specific learner age, topic and class outcome to explain, you are comfortable preparing reusable materials and managing several learners, you can plan around enrolment uncertainty and the official 30% Teacher Fee, and you want to test a group-class idea without calling a class price a wage. Choose Preply when you would rather build a tutor profile, teach planned one to one lessons and set your own asking price.

How to use this comparison
- Read a published rate in its original unit. A lesson price, per minute rate, monthly scenario, and hourly wage are different things.
